About
With a voice that could “melt icebergs at 50 paces” (VOX), Briana Corrigan, former vocalist with The Beautiful South, has returned to the stage after a ten-year hiatus, captivating audiences with a series of hugely successful, sold-out tours across the UK and Ireland.
Born in Belfast, Corrigan is best known for her unforgettable performance on The Beautiful South’s biggest hit, the chart-topping, Brit Award-winning A Little Time. Her unique vocal style, described by Time Out as “one of the most distinctive voices in pop”, combined perfectly with Paul Heaton’s sharp, acerbic lyrics and irresistible melodies to create one of the most enduring songs of its era.
A gifted songwriter in her own right, Corrigan has released two critically acclaimed solo albums, earning praise from some of the music industry’s most respected publications. Q Magazine hailed her talent for “chest-hugging, breast-beating balladry of the highest calibre”, while Melody Maker called her “a revelation”. Hot Press described her as “a songwriter of wit and elegance”, and Melody Maker observed: “It’s like listening to someone sing you a story. The rain outside is drifting along the glass and this is a good soundtrack to the tale of its falling.”
