About the event
The Rev Dr Clive Jackson, better known as "The Doctor", from legendary 80s number-one band Doctor and the Medics, will be hitting the decks with an anthemic, hit-filled DJ set. Be prepared to dance all night in a rewind to the era of neon leg warmers, blockbuster movies and the mix tape, with a man who captivated the 80’s with live performances and television appearances (including, of course, Top Of The Pops when they reached Number 1 with “Spirit in the Sky”). Join us for the ultimate throwback set, with a few very special surprises.
Doctor and the Medics crashed into the charts in 1986 with their hit single “Spirit in the Sky”, which stormed to number one and became one of the decade’s most memorable hits. With roots in London’s vibrant psychedelic-rock scene, the band built a reputation for wild theatrical shows, surreal humour and a sound that fused glitter, punk and pop in equal measure.
